Judy Hutcheson is an adoptive parent of three boys, two of which have special needs. Judy and her husband have also served as foster parents in Georgia. As an adoptive parent, Judy is well aware of both the joys and challenges of parenting children with special needs. Judy has worked closely with her school system to ensure that her children receive the services that they need. She brings these advocacy skills to her position as a Resource Advisor.

Judy is a strong advocate of adoption and has a strong desire to assist other families. Judy has been an advocate for children, especially those with special needs, for many years. It is her passion to help children reach their potential and become productive members of society. Judy enjoys helping families work and grow through their issues. Judy assists families residing in Region 7 and parts of Region 9. She enjoys sharing with others the knowledge that she has gained through her personal and professional experiences. She enjoys the opportunity to assist families in locating the resources and support they need.

Prior to joining the staff at the Georgia Center in March of 2004 Judy had held a position for 11 years with a nonprofit organization where she coordinated services for medically fragile children and their families. Judy enjoys assisting foster and adoptive families as they navigate the wonderful and often challenging journey of parenting.
