GA Dept. of Human ResourcesThe Georgia Department of Human Resources, as the State agency responsible for the well being of Georgia's children and families, established the DFCS/State Adoption Unit January 1, 1997 to expedite safe and secure adoptive placements for children with special needs who are currently in the permanent legal custody of the Department of Human Resources. Innovative programs to promote successful adoptions include The Georgia Center for Resources and Support, funded in 2001. The DHR mission is as follows: "The Georgia Department of Human Services, in partnership with local communities, will assist individuals and families in achieving safe, healthy, independent and self-reliant lives." The DHR vision statement is "In the delivery of services to individuals, families, and communities, the Georgia Department of Human Services will be compassionate, innovative, effective and accountable."

Families First LogoFamilies First, Inc. is a multi-service private, non-profit agency with more then 110 years of experience. The Mission Statement of Families First, Inc. is "To strengthen and preserve families in partnership with them and their communities". Families First has been providing adoption services to Georgia families for over 90 years. Today, Families First provides pre-and post-adoption services to families who adopt children with special needs, infants, and children from foreign countries.

Bethany Christian ServicesBethany Christian Services is a multi-service, non-profit, child welfare agency that was founded in 1944. Bethany has its headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan and 70 offices throughout the United States and over 10 programs helping families and children abroad. The agency's mission statement is: "Bethany Christian Services manifests the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by protecting and enhancing the lives of children and families through quality social services." The agency has provided services to adoptive families in Georgia for over 15 years.
