Please consider joining an adoptive or foster parent support group or starting one in your Region. We would be happy to assist you in starting a group if there is not one already active in your area, or in helping to "revive" an inactive group. We can also help plan special activities for your support group such as special trainings. We would be happy to speak to your group about The Georgia Center for Resources and Support, and to bring our library "on the road" to your meetings. Give us a call at 1-866-A-PARENT for more information on how we can help.
If you would like information on adoptive or foster parent support groups in Georgia check our Community Resources for "Adoptive or Foster Family Support Groups" in your Region. And for current meetings, please see our Calendar page.
Buddy Families
If you are interested in connecting with another adoptive or foster family, please speak to the Region Resources Advisor in your region. The Advisors keep track of families willing to "buddy" and does the matches when families who share similar interests are available. This can be a great way for children to make friends with other children who are "like them", for "Moms" to support one another, or just to increase awareness of adoption and foster care in your community.
