The Center's Atlanta Conference - April 9, 2005 Atlanta, Georgia "Building Strong Families: The Influence of Positive Male Involvement"
The Center hosted its second major, all day Conference, "Building Strong Families: The Influence of Positive Male Involvement" in Atlanta on April 9, 2005. Over 60 parents attended. (1) Ms. Vale' Henson Director of the Adoption Unit at DHR, Department of Family and Children's Services opened the Conference with remarks. (2) The Keynote Speaker was Dr. Makungu Akinyela, PhD. He addressed the importance of Males in parenting our boys and girls. Parents enjoyed Dr. Akinyela as well as our other workshop presenters: Jeff Atkinson, LPC with ABC, Dr. Le'Roy Reese, Lee Daniel, M.Ed., and Gloria Daniel, MSW, and Randy Hicks, Director, Georgia Family Council.
